This bill prohibits the use of special merchant category codes to track firearm and ammunition purchases, preventing financial institutions from building de facto gun registries. It stops woke banks from collaborating with anti-gun activists to surveil lawful gun owners. CPAC supports protecting gun owners from financial surveillance and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on 2025-03-05 by a vote of 17-12. The Governor vetoed this bill.
