Vote Description
This bill requires local courts to remove certain arrest records that arise from non-forcible, non-registerable-sex offense arrests that did not receive a conviction. CPAC’s Nolan Center for Justice is a national leader in criminal justice reform and works to cut crime, reduce taxpayer costs, protect victims, define the proper scope of government, and safely reduce incarceration rates. CPAC supports efforts to prevent non-conviction arrests from restricting a person’s access to gainful employment and secure housing and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on May 3, 2023 by a vote of 115-1 and the bill later became law.
