2023 - Florida Senate
Vote Description
This bill makes it such that kids above the age of 1 and below the age of 5 in families living below 300% of the federal poverty line may enroll in Florida’s Kidcare program, an expansion from the original 200% limit. This means that kids living in families making up to nearly $80,000 per year may now enroll in the program. CPAC opposes the expansion of this type of government program and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 4, 2023 by a vote of 38-0 and the bill later became law. Sen. Trumbull later voted Yea after the initial roll call vote.
