This massive bill restructures government agencies such that the number of executive-level cabinet agencies will decline from 37 to 16. The governor’s office estimates that this will save taxpayers $214,000,000 over the next few years. CPAC supports efforts to reduce the size of the government and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on March 15, 2023 by a vote of 58-39 and the bill later became law.
