This bill requires jails to notify the county sheriff when there is probable cause to believe an arrestee is unlawfully present in the United States and directs the sheriff to notify the proper authority. CPAC supports robust cooperation with federal immigration enforcement and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on 2025-02-04 by a vote of 67-26. The bill later became law.
