This bill strengthens enforcement of immigration detainer requests, authorizes state penalties and funding cuts for noncompliant governmental bodies, shields cooperating officials, and prohibits employers from knowingly recruiting or hiring unauthorized aliens under threat of license suspension. CPAC strongly backs firm action against sanctuary policies and illegal employment that undercut American workers and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on 2025-02-20 by a vote of 64-26. The bill did not become law.
