Vote Description
This bill removes facilities where elective abortions are performed from the list of locations designated as healthcare providers for the purposes of the Healthcare Provider Insurance Availability Act. It also adds “maternity centers” to the definition of healthcare provider. CPAC recognizes that abortion is not healthcare, believes abortion is always a human tragedy, supports efforts to diminish its practice, and supported this bill. The House sustained Governor Kelly’s veto of this bill on April 26, 2023 by a vote of 84-40.
