Vote Description
This bill prohibits medical service providers from reporting medical debt to a consumer reporting agency. It also prohibits such agencies from including medical debt in their reports. CPAC recognizes that this mandate will damage the ability of financial institutions to properly make decisions regarding loans and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 31, 2023 by a vote of 50-8 but the bill never became law.
