Vote Description

This bill, sponsored by Rep. Byron Donalds (CPAC Lifetime Rating 96%), brings real accountability for criminals in the District of Columbia by changing the absurd definition of “juveniles” from age 24 back to 18. CPAC supports common-sense criminal justice reforms that hold offenders accountable and keep communities safe, and supported this bill. The House passed the bill on September 16, 2025, by a vote of 240-179 (1 Republican voted against, and 31 Democrats voted in favor). The Senate has not taken floor action on the measure.
