America Uncanceled: Holy Week special with Mercedes Schlapp and Reverend Mahoney

Reverend Patrick Mahoney joins Mercedes Schlapp for a reflective, special episode of America Uncanceled for Holy Week 2025.  

The story of the two criminals crucified with Jesus conveys Jesus’ bottomless mercy, something we should strive to imitate in the current climate of cancel culture.  

“We talk about cancel culture – Christ cancels our sins, but he doesn’t cancel us,” commented Mahoney.  

The Easter story and the message of God’s great mercy seem to be working in the hearts of many more Americans as Bible sales and church attendance are on the rise. These signs give us hope that our nation is turning back to God.  

“People are sensing there’s something more meaningful than our material possessions. There's something greater and bigger out there for us,” observed Mahoney. “We are seeing people come back to God, come back to faith, and Holy Week brings us back there.”
