President Trump plans to establish the Department of Government Efficiency headed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to fight the Biden administration’s expansion of the administrative state. Director of the Center for Regulatory Freedom Andrew Langer explored the possible function and impacts the new department could have on reducing regulations, corruption, and bureaucracy.
“What I'm hoping is we’re going to go back and re-ask some very serious questions that we tried asking ourselves as a nation and weirdly enough in the 1990s,” said Langer. “How do we assess when one decision creates unintended consequences and multiplies risks and how do we balance those against other risks that are out there?”
